TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES IN THE NAMIBIA OFFSHORE SECTOR

In recognition of the multiple oil and gas discoveries in the Orange Basin offshore Namibia and the ongoing exploration activities, Yinson Production in collaboration with the Petroleum Training and Education Fund (PETROFUND) is pleased to announce a three-year Cadet Programme leading to an internationally recognised Navigation, Engineering or Electro-Technical Officer of the Watch (STCW) qualification.

Yinson Production is an integrated provider of comprehensive FPSO solutions, with full-spectrum capabilities in construction, operation and asset management. The company has a global footprint and currently operates FPSOs in Brazil, Nigeria, Ghana, Angola and Malaysia.

Scholarship Aim:

The scholarship opportunity aims to empower Namibians to participate in offshore operations linked to Yinson Production’s global activities.

Funding:

The scholarship will be fully funded by Yinson Production.

Requirements for all the scholarship applicants

  • Namibian citizenship
  • Valid passport;
  • Be able-bodied and medically fit to work at sea, with 6/6 eyesight.
  • Have completed Grade 12 or TVET equivalent, with a minimum 50% pass in mathematics and physical science.
  • Be willing and able to study in South Africa (2026) and work on seagoing vessels and offshore facilities.
  • Have a good command of the English language.
